Koalas are being made homeless by land clearing

Australia's icon, the koala, is homeless

Dear ,

Would you agree that koalas are a unique piece of Australia that we should protect?

Most Australians are fond of this beloved national icon, found nowhere else on Earth. We know that these fluffy tree-dwellers sleep a lot and enjoy a gum leaf or two.

But what many of us don’t know is that our furry friends are at grave risk.

They are innocent victims of weakened land clearing laws across the country, which allowed 300,000 hectares of bushland to be wiped out in Queensland – in 2014 alone! If we don’t stop cutting down bushland in NSW and Queensland, those areas could lose koalas forever.

It's about time we Aussies show the koala some love.
