Places we love

Protecting the places we love

Dear ,

Thank you for your generous support of our work, you really are making a difference. Today I want to share with you a campaign that is very close to my heart.

In the sunny fields of North West New South Wales, nestled amongst the picturesque Pilliga woodlands, a David vs Goliath struggle is underway.

This battle is about everyday Australians, like Anne Kennedy, attempting to protect the places they love against the power of Big Business.

Santos’ massive coal seam gas project threatens to change this Australian landscape, the Pilliga forest, forever.

The only thing standing in their way is the strong local community.

It is people like Anne Kennedy, who have farmed the land for most of their lives. Having lived in the region for so long she knows the contours of the land like the back of her hand.

She is standing alongside Traditional Owners, teachers, doctors, mums, dads and kids to protect their country and stop this destruction.

Hear Anne explain why we need to protect the Pilliga with our lives.

Yours for nature,

Naomi Hodgson
Newcastle Campaign Manager
